My Absolute Favorite Banana Bread Recipe!
Who doesn't love banana bread? Well...a lot of people actually. Even with a really good banana bread recipe, some people just can't stand it. I never cared for banana bread much when I was little...but now I love it. Especially with this great recipe.
My 3 year old brother LOVES bananas - and, naturally, he loves this recipe. :-) Of course, he refers to them as "na-na-na-nas"....but I expect he'll learn how to say it right one of these days. And as long as he keeps asking for yummy na-na-na bread, I'll keep making it for him!
Yummy Banana Bread1/2 C. butter 1 C. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 3 bananas, mashed 2 C. flour
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Mix dry ingredients in a seperate bowl and add to the creamed mixture along with the banans. (Note - the longer you mash the bananas, the better. Lumpy banana bread is not very good!) Pour into two greased loaf pans, or a greased 9x13 dish. Bake at 350* for one hour; if used a 9x13, bake for 25-30 minutes. Optional: If desired, add in 2-3 large tabelspoons of baking cocoa...this makes a wonderful chocolate banana bread and it's my personal favorite way of making this recipe!
