thanksgiving apple pie

the first time I froze apples, I "went by the book". I peeled and slice them and then had them soaking in a combination salt water to prevent the coloring. Well I don't remember the "book" saying anything about not freezing them in the salt solution too, so I froze them in the solution!
I had thawed the apples out for a Thanksgiving Pie and had it all mixed together, but luckily had "sampled" a bite. YUCK! All I could taste was salt! Every one of the bags of apples I froze had to be thrown out!

All I can say is Thank Goodness I "sample" my cooking, or I would have never lived that one down with my family. :)
